I know it isn’t nice to gloat, but I got happy feet when I read a Denver Post article about party fundraising in Colorado. The DEMS raised $492,488. The GOP raised $326,731. And that’s after the GOP brought Karl Rove in to help them raise money.

I know this is only one fundraising period, and it is still early for 2012 elections, but the GOP is somewhat known for its political deep pocket donors. Of course the Citizens United case changed a lot of things, and may have changed GOP strategies. It may be that they prefer to funnel their money into vehicles that allow them to hide their donors. Of course, I’m not accusing the GOP of actually working with 527’s—that would be illegal. They wouldn’t do anything illegal, would they?
