Today my family is making the final arrangements for my Dad. He did not want to have any public memorial service, so there will not be one. He asked to be cremated, and that his ashes be placed with my brother, Karl ,at his grave in Fort Logan National Cemetary in Denver. We will have a small private ceremony at Ft Logan at some date in the future. Mother is not ready yet for that transition.
My Dad was a World War II Veteran, who loved this country and especially loved the 4th of July. His Dad served in the Navy in World War I. My brother served in the Air force during the Vietnam conflict, although his duty station was in Italy. I come from a long line of Patriots. We'll celebrate their lives, and the lives of all Veterans on the 4th of July. Thank you for your service. Stars and Stripes Forever!
